Initiated by the festival «Les Sacrées Journées», Ultime Prière ("Ultimate Prayer") was performed as a world premiere in the famous Strasbourg Cathedral, as opening act for Sœur Marie Keyrouz.
Fawzy’s new repertoire evokes the Orient’s mystic memory, using texts of the 10th and 12th century (Ibn Arabi, Hallaj) and today.
The eponym song, which already appeared on a preceding album, is a prayer about the sorrow of the victims of war and injustice. With this new creation of sacred songs, Fawzy pursues his spiritual quest. His compositions reflect the deep texts, make them resound and invite the listener on an inner journey. The words vibrate, provoke moments of weightlessness, spaces of peace.
Music becomes a tool for dialogue, spirituality and intercultural understanding. This ultimate prayer is a ray of hope for a better world.
The enchanting melodies of Fawzy’s voice and oud melt with the virtuosic sounds of Khadija’s Qanun/Jasser’s viola d’amore and the deep rhythms of Adel’s percussions for a prayer that is human, spiritual and artistic at the same time.
