Ishtar Connection
arabic vibrations
EP 2018 | Music on the go
Album to be released at the end of 2019
For the 1st time in his career, Fawzy Al-Aiedy pays tribute to the Arab song of the East (Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt) and the Maghreb (Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria), a spicy tribute with his own melodies . Through Ishtar Connection, traditional songs, modes and rhythms interact with electronic sounds and pulses. It is an improbable but irresistible alchemy, between world music and electronics, invented by a master of oriental music and three young musicians from contemporary music: Vincent Boniface multi-instrumentalist from Aosta Valley, Amin Al-Aiedy with arrangements and bass, GSTN with electronic sounds (transposed on stage by drummer Adrien Drums). What could be better than appealing to the new generation cradled between two cultures.
Modern musical references echo a centuries-old tradition. Electric oud and Arabic song intersect with electronic textures, the sounds of a bagpipe and other acoustic instruments, in an unexpected harmony and groove, all transcended by modern and relevant arrangements.
What name could better stick to this project than that of Ishtar, major and fascinating figure of Mesopotamian mythology, symbol of duality and opposites. Ishtar Connection launches a bridge between tradition and modernity, offering a space of freedom, a resolutely festive moment where cultures meet, where irresistible desire to dance is born ... Welcome to the oriental fest-noz.
